We pride ourselves on banishing the stress and overwhelm often associated with designing spaces. With our expertise and dedication, we turn the daunting task of design and renovation into a delightful journey for our clients.
Meet the Founder
Abigail Marcelo Horace has been interested in Interior Design since her youth. After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from the New York Institute of Technology in 2010, she embarked on a distinguished 10+ year career in high-end residential design in New York City. Abigail began planning her departure as an employee of the design industry after having her first child, and began taking on side projects in efforts to begin her own studio. After a few years, Abigail officially founded Casa Marcelo in 2020 and became a full-time entrepreneur.
As the inception of Casa Marcelo is a product creative burnout, lack of representation and lack of work-life balance experienced during her tenure, Abigail strives to create a healthy work environment for her staff and clients. “I take pride in providing a safe space for our workers, and departing from the well-known toxicity of the design industry. I’m BIG on communication and transparency. I never want anyone working with me to be treated as I was during my tenure.”
Wellness is a focus for Abigail, as she has dealt with mental health issues and burnout throughout her career. Wellness is weaved through the ethos and design approach of Casa Marcelo, and she tries to offer peace of mind for her clients and team.
Her favorite aspect of design lies in envisioning the potential of a home through meticulous sourcing, particularly at the inception of a project. She also loves to learn all about the client so that she can nail the design presentation from the start. Elevated, casual, and detailed Interiors are the goal, and Casa Marcelo loves to bring it to fruition.
Abigail draws inspiration from various sources including nature, historical architecture encountered during her travels, and her family. A dedicated wife and mother to two young sons, aged 6 and 2, she cherishes moments spent with her family, indulges in travel, relishes 'me-time', and delights in discovering new music.
